Phoenix All-Star

Happy Friday Blue Crew!

I hope you are all well rested after having an off-day on Thursday, after sweeping the Giants. But now its a new day and new series. Manny Ramirez said it best “don’t celebrate what you did yesterday, what did you do today?” and he’s right! Okay we swept the Giants but now lets focus on the D’Backs.

Speaking of Manny and the D’Backs. Manny had an MRI done on his hamstring that he injured in San Fran. while trying to slide back to second. The MRI showed inflamation and it wont require Manny to head to the DL, he is listed Day-to-day and should take it easy for a few days, he does feel better though, which is GREAT news. Manny owns Arizona so it would be nice to see him in there this series.

Arizona on the other side of the coin, fired manager AJ Hinch yesterday after having one of the worst pitching staffs, ranking 30th in most all categories. The interim manager for the D’Backs will be none other than Kirk Gibson. What do you know? He will manage his first game against his former team on Friday. Im glad Gibby has a chance to manage, and I hope he does great, just not against the Dodgers 🙂

In other notes. Voting for the All-Star Game in Anaheim ended yesterday and Phoenix native Andre Ethier will be an All-Star for the first time in his young career. Well deserved, he really has done well this season, and hopefully he does even better in the second half. Congrats to Andre! Andre is also hotter than the Arizona desert. Ethier has great numbers when he plays in Chase Field so we should see some doubles and home runs these next three games.

Kuroda takes the mound today against Edwin Jackson who in his last start threw a no-hitter,Kershaw tomorrow, and there’s no projected starter for sunday. All of our pitchers have been pretty good of late and it looks like the offense has improved. With Matt Kemp seeing the ball better and getting nice hits, hopefully we can go back to normal and avoid the drama behind the “Matt & Joe” saga. Todays game begins at 6:40 PT

This Sunday is 4th of July. Please be safe enjoy that day, have a BBQ and enjoy some fireworks. Celebrate that you live in the best country in the world. Honor those who are serving us to enjoy that day and everyday. We really are blessed to be living here. America’s pastime.

Think Blue!
